In 2008 while researching the organic acids in different kinds of compost, one of which was spent mushroom compost, we found different levels of beneficial organic acids and nutrients. The spent mushroom compost contains several times more organic acids and nutrients because the compost was created as a medium to grow mushrooms. It was consistent in quality and the mushrooms added additional organic acids and beneficials such as Mycorrhiza. After 4 years of testing we found an economical method to extract the liquid and were awarded a process patent. For over a decade we've been providing the liquid to farmers in bulk. We're now offering it in small packages to home gardeners.
